Omaha native transfers from Air Force to Nebraska

The Nebraska men’s basketball team made another addition via the transfer portal on Wednesday afternoon. Wing Will Cooper announced his transfer from the Air Force Academy.

The Omaha native spent one season in Colorado Springs. In 21 games, he averaged 5.3 points per game on 45% field-goal shooting and 38% from the three-point line.

His best game this past season came on February 22, when he led the Falcons with 21 points in a 72-69 overtime victory over Fresno State. That win was the Academy’s only victory in their final 22 games of the season en route to a 4-28 record.

In the span of five days, Nebraska has added five new players to their roster. According to 247Sports, the five new Huskers have the 2025 transfer portal class ranked No. 55 in the nation and No. 13 in the Big Ten.

Nebraska has had to be aggressive with the transfer portal, as head coach Fred Hoiberg hasn’t shown much interest in recruiting high school talent. The Huskers only have one freshman, Quentin Rhymes, who signed with the 2025 high school recruiting class.
