Sahil Juneja: Thank you for having me! I was born in Gujarat, India, and my journey into filmmaking began at a young age. Watching movies as a child sparked my imagination, and I knew I wanted to create stories that resonate with people. I pursued formal education at the New York Film Academy, where I developed my skills and honed my craft.
Interviewer: You’ve achieved significant recognition for your work, especially with your award-winning short film, Surprise. What was the creative process like for that project?
Sahil Juneja: Creating Surprise was an incredible experience. The story came from a personal place, exploring themes of love and loss. I focused on crafting relatable characters and an emotionally charged narrative. The process involved extensive collaboration with my team to ensure every detail resonated with the audience. Winning awards for it was validating and motivated me to continue pushing creative boundaries.
Interviewer: In 2024, you founded Chanting Yogi Motion Pictures. What inspired you to create this platform?
Sahil Juneja: Founding Chanting Yogi Motion Pictures was driven by my desire to create a space that celebrates diverse storytelling. I wanted to challenge traditional media norms and provide opportunities for underrepresented voices in cinema. The name reflects my belief in the transformative power of storytelling—just like chanting can bring peace and clarity, films can inspire understanding and connection among people.
Interviewer: You have six upcoming projects lined up for 2026. Can you share any details about these projects?
Sahil Juneja: While I can’t reveal too much just yet, I can say that these projects will explore various genres and themes. Each one is designed to provoke thought and evoke emotions while highlighting diverse perspectives. I’m incredibly excited about the stories we are developing and believe they will resonate with audiences worldwide.
